Startup Quotes/Notes

“I’m no longer focused on how I can do the best software development, but instead: how can I get the most value? Sometimes it will look like mock-ups, not software. Sometimes it will look like hackery. It feels good to do good engineering, but that is not good startup engineering. The key thing is figuring out when to switch from hackery to scalability.”

Engineers have an almost irresistible urge to build stuff to answer questions, but that isn’t very efficient. Sometimes you can answer your question without building any real software at all.

"If you're not scratching, you're not gonna find the itchy spot."
You are scratching the goat. It is your job to find the itchy spot. How do you find the itchy spot?

Some times "Minimally Viable Product (MVP)" is not possible, instead look for "Minimally Viable Interaction" or "Minimally Viable Test" (to test the hypothesis by experimenting)

"Mind Grenades"  It’s a short electronic book of about 10,000-15,000 words. Most can be read in a single sitting of about an hour or 90 minutes. It explains a single key idea in an exciting way. We like to call them 'mind grenades.' - ted.com

"We cannot change what we are not aware of, and once we are aware we cannot help but change" - Sheryl Sandberg
